Frequently Asked Questions
Where is your studio? I've never been
to Hoboken, how do I get there?
to Hoboken, how do I get there?
We're located in the Monroe Center for the Arts on Monroe & 7th in Hoboken, NJ. It's a safe, security monitored building with restaurants and coffee shops galore.
From Manhattan, there are two routes here via public transportation, both routes are about a 20-25 minute ride. You can take the 119 or 126 NJ Transit bus from Port Authority, or the PATH train from any of the 5 Manhattan stops: 33rd St, 23rd St, 14th St, 9th St, and Christopher St.
When your shoot approaches we'll send you a link via Google Maps to the location. Don't worry, it's an easy trip, even if you've never been.
Is there parking nearby?
Yes. We advise downloading the ParkMobile app for iOS or Android ahead of time so you can pay for a street parking spot when you get here. Not to worry, it's less than $5 for your entire shoot. Do plan ahead to give yourself plenty of cushion time so you're not stressed right before your shoot.
Can I arrive early to the shoot?
Yes, you can arrive early if you need to. We do schedule ample preparation time between your call time and when the camera starts rolling.
Will you do my hair and make-up?
Typically no, but one can be hired for your shoot at an additional charge if you need it.
How long will it take to get my video?
2-4 weeks depending on the post-production extras you may have chosen.
Do you film high-quality self tape auditions in a space?
Yes, we do. Our studio is set up perfectly for actors who need next-level quality in a self tape audition. We are highly skilled readers and can rehearse with you over zoom beforehand as well, so you are 100% prepared and ready to go. Note that extra time is needed for post-production processing after we shoot your audition, so consider that when scheduling your shoot. Call us for a consultation at (646) 960-2162.
Can I bring my own director or acting coach?
Sure, just let us know beforehand.
If you script a custom monologue for me,
how does that process work?
how does that process work?
In our creative meeting together we'll discuss what kind of piece you're looking for us to craft. What kind of material do you have already? What kind of roles or characters are looking to play? Will it be comedic or dramatic? What ways of life are you familiar with? We'll take your ideas and carefully develop a piece with substance that will show off your strengths and give you plenty of moments to play. We'll give you one complimentary round of feedback and then finalize your piece.
How long does the scripting process take?
Typically about a week. After you sign off final approval on the script, we'll schedule your shoot. If you'd like rehearsal with or direction from us, let us know.
Do I get to choose the takes for the final video?
We do offer this as an option, but as it involves a significant amount of work in preparing each take for your viewing and selection, there is an additional charge. See our 'Extras' section above for rate details.
Can I have the raw footage?
Yes, you can, but it is an additional charge. The way that professional footage is shot and audio is captured, and then synced and prepared for editing is quite different from video you might get from your iPhone. In addition, the 'raw' video will only have basic color correction and the audio won't be mastered by one of our technicians and will require significant work by a trained professional to arrive at the same level of quality that we provide. Please contact us for rates.
What are your COVID policies?
All people working on our set are fully vaccinated and maintain social distancing protocols wherever possible. If we are not doing so already, we will wear masks during your shoot at your request. Your dressing room is a private area within our large studio space. We also have a sanitizing station, and restrooms are just down the hall.
